The analog subdials sport a standard hours and minutes display, along with a 12 hour second time zone hand. The full line uses Citizen’s Caliber 8989 quartz movement, which offers a wide array of functionality across the mix of analog and digital subdials. Each model also shares the quartet of pushers at 2 o’clock, 4 o’clock, 8 o’clock, and 10 o’clock to control each of the Ana-Digi line’s four subdials.
The signature feature of the Ana-Digi Temp series is carried over on these models, with a 6 o’clock temperature sensor that allows for the line’s trademark digital thermometer complication. The boxy, multifaceted stainless steel case is sized at a compact 33mm by 37mm, with angular lines that both harken back to the ‘80s original and feel right in line with the aesthetic of the “Star Wars” galaxy.

By reimagining the classic angular ‘80s design of the Ana-Digi Temp series in a sextet of “Star Wars”-inspired colorways, the new Citizen Ana-Digi Star Wars collection captures the spirit of the original movie trilogy in a playful and unique way.Īll six models in the new Citizen Ana-Digi Star Wars collection, including the Citizen Ana-Digi Rebel Pilot, the Citizen Ana-Digi Trench Run, the Citizen Ana-Digi C-3PO, the Citizen Ana-Digi R2-D2, the Citizen Ana-Digi Darth Vader, and the Citizen Ana-Digi Boba Fett, are mechanically identical to the standard model reintroduced in 2018. Its latest set of releases in this vein, however, does what very few “Star Wars”-themed watches have ever done before by making timepieces that wouldn’t look out of place in the world of the films themselves. With its close licensing agreement and official partnership with “Star Wars” franchise owner Disney, Japanese giant Citizen is one of the most prolific brands to reference the galaxy far, far away. The world of watchmaking is no stranger to “Star Wars” theming, with releases ranging from disposable toy children’s watches to elaborate six-figure tourbillon designs over the years. 44 years on from the release of the original film, “Star Wars” remains a global cultural juggernaut, prompting homages and tie-ins in nearly every consumer industry.
